M2I Corp. selects Avalanche‘s P-SRAM products for HMI applications

Avalanche Technology Inc., one of the leading firms in the next generations in MRAM technology, has reported started offering P-SRAM (Persistent SRAM) products for M2I corporation’s industrial touch screen applications. M2I will integrate Avalanche Technology’s 4Mbit High-Performance Serial Persistent-SRAM device into its TOP Human Machine Interface product portfolio used in industrial automation systems.

Sources cite that M2I has selected Avalanche’s P-SRAM for its industrial HMI products on account of its instant write capability, ease of use, and practically infinite endurance and data retention in tough environmental conditions and an upgrade path for upcoming product enhancement.

HMI products need an additional non-volatile expansion RAM memory in order to store previously rendered graphics, messages, and to log data associated with alarms and internal registers. Message and data logging needs the RAM with high endurance to smoothly perform numerous repeated read-write operations. This RAM also requires being capable of quick and reliable writes to safeguard data in the event of unanticipated power loss.

Speaking on which, In-Sik Kim, General Manager for Research & Development Department at M2I Corporation said that Avalanche Technology’s family of P-SRAM non-volatile memories is the top-notch solution today with the reliability and performance needed for the company’s TOPR series of HMI products.

Danny Sabour who is the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Avalanche Technology said that the company’s P-SRAM product offers numerous benefits including non-volatility with fast write capability, to designers of next-generation Industry 4.0 systems.

He added that Industry 4.0 equipment require reliable local memory to minimalize data transfer to the cloud.

For the record, M2I manufactures and designs HMI systems for numerous industrial segments such as semiconductor manufacturing, logistics, energy, chemical, energy, textile, and Food Production. The Company’s touch panel and PC-driven HMI systems enable the integration of automation tasks into a single compact and comprehensive system.
