Microsoft partners with AICTE to empower students in next-gen tech

Microsoft, the globally renowned tech giant, has reportedly announced that it has inked a new partnership with AICTE (All India Council For Technical Education) to empower educators and learners in new-age technologies such as cloud computing, data science, Internet of Things (IoT), and AI (artificial intelligence).

As a part of this collaboration, educators and students will be given access to more than 1,500 Microsoft course modules completely free of charge. Students and educators would be able to access these courses through ELIS, the e-learning portal of AICTE.

To make this possible, Microsoft Learn, the learning resource center of Microsoft, has been integrated into the AICTE ELIS platform. The integration will give access to various personalized learning resources and paths for students, effectively covering a wide range of technologies such as IoT, cloud computing, AI, data science, and others.

Further, the integration will also offer educators access to the instructor-led training material and online learning paths through the Microsoft Learn for Educators.

Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft India, stated that the partnership with AICTE is a testament of the company’s commitment towards establishing a robust skilling ecosystem in India and further ensure long term endurance in learning.

Maheshwari further added that COVID-19 has elevated the need for skill upgradation and has also underlined that the future of learning will be highly personalized and backed by technology. Microsoft is committed to supporting educators and learners throughout India to skill themselves in upcoming technologies and further partner in the journey towards thriving in a digital future.

The collaboration will also provide students an opportunity to get complete practical knowledge about various technologies and further build up for the future using Azure for Students.

Additionally, eligible students aged 18 years or more can develop apps, understand and explore AI, and learn about big data with access to over 25 free Azure services and $100 in Azure credit, which is renewable on an annual basis.
