Real estate software solution firm MRI buys Texas-based CheckpointID

MRI Software, a renowned real estate software solutions provider, has reportedly announced the acquisition of CheckpointID, LLC, a Texas based fraud prevention and ID verification technology solutions provider for the multifamily industry.

The Texas based company’s CheckpointIDTM solution verifies government issued international and domestic IDs in real-time in an effort to protect them against rental fraud. The validation also increases the safety in both self-guided and guided apartment tours. This solution helps leasing agents quickly conduct ID checks online or in person, facilitating a secure and efficient alternative to conventional paper-based process.

Patrick Ghilani, RI Software CEO, stated that CheckpointID is the ideal choice for the company’s MRI Living, a suite which effectively covers all components of the residential leasing cycle. COVID-19 has further elevated the need for digitalization, and residential property managers are facing immense pressure to provide an online, modern experience to customer.

Ghilani further added that this acquisition increases the company’s digital first-offering, and further adds to an expanding series of innovative applications that provide greater efficiencies to the daily activities of its customers.

Terry Slattery, CheckpointID Chief Executive Officer, stated that the company has observed substantial growth since its founding in 2017. The firm is now synonymous for ID verification in the market.

Slattery further added that the innovation, investment, and scale that MRI would bring to the company, will prove to be beneficial for its development. CheckpointID looks forward to its thrilling future as a part of MRI.

The addition of the CheckpointID solution would greatly extend MRI’s capabilities in the multifamily industry, specifically, adding much deeper functionality to the applications used for resident screening and lead management. Additionally, MRI can also leverage the solution to effectively support other industries where it serves, including affordable and public housing, student accommodation, and short-term rentals.
