Voiceworks chooses BroadForward STP to replace SS7 routing systems

Voiceworks, one of the leading providers of Telco and IT related services in Europe, has reportedly selected the BroadForward STP to replace its two legacy SS7 routing solutions deployed by major incumbent vendors.

Sources cite that BroadForward Signaling Transfer Point (BroadForward STP) is an extremely versatile routing hub for all 2G or 3G associated signaling traffic. It will be deployed in a high availability mode supporting geographic redundancy across several sites.

The Netherland-based company already has the BroadForward Diameter Signaling Controller (DSC) in operation for routing of 4G associated signaling traffic. All products of BroadForward support convenient GUI based configuration and integration of cutting-edge signaling scenarios across technologies and protocols, without the need for coding or scripting.

For the record, Voiceworks is one of the leading Voice over IP (VoIP) and web technology providers in both the German and Dutch telecom markets. The company is a part of Enreach, a European-based unified communications service provider. Enreach caters to more than 1650 resellers and two million end-customers with activities across 25 nations.

Speaking on which, Christian Bichbäumer who is the Head of Mobile Operations of Enreach said that the deployment of BroadForward STP would enable the company to rationalize its network as it replaces several legacy routers with one uniform, advanced software solution. The new software solution will provide the company with the required flexibility to enforce complex routing logic and services, using a central configuration and management function, he states.

Mr. Bichbäumer added that BroadForward has a proven track record for supporting challenging technical integration projects at Enreach and the company is pleased to continue this partnership.

Taco Schoute, CEO of BroadForward said that as a long-standing signaling partner of Voiceworks, the company is excited to replace legacy SS7 routers with the company’s cutting-edge STP. The company’s solution enables Voiceworks to shift from the limits of inflexible legacy SS7 products, usually running on proprietary hardware.

Mr. Schoute added that BroadForward STP is a 100 percent software solution by design, enabling Voiceworks to allow converged signaling scenarios across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks.
